Who are We?

The organization was established in June 2017. The Sigomre Organic Agriculture Program (SOAP) is a community-driven initiative focused on promoting organic farming practices, empowering local farmers, especially women and youth, and Fostering Sustainable Agricultural Practices. SOAP is committed to environmental conservation, organic farming, fodder production, poultry keeping, and market access.

SOAP’s initiatives are aimed at fostering economic development, combating climate change, enhancing food security, and promoting environmentally friendly practices. The program collaborates with women and youth groups, providing them with training, resources, and access to markets for their produce.

At the heart of SOAP’s initiatives is a deep respect for cultural practices and traditions. We recognize that agriculture is not just an economic activity but also a way of life, intertwined with customs, beliefs, and communal values. SOAP embraces indigenous knowledge and integrates it with modern organic farming techniques, ensuring that development does not come at the cost of cultural identity. Whether it’s respecting traditional farming methods, incorporating community-led decision-making, or observing local customs during farming cycles, SOAP ensures that every initiative aligns with the values and heritage of the communities we serve.
